Environmental Policy
1. KS Board of Directors 'Board' 
The Board are ultimately responsible for environmental management and performance within KS, as well as taking ownership of the Environmental Policy. The Board also have the responsibility of ensuring the firm's compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
Specific duties include:
- Assessing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of the firm's activities;
- Reviewing the Environmental Policy and procedures;
- Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation relevant to the firm's business operations; and
- Developing and implementing a firm wide detailed programme of environmental actions with clearly stated performance objectives, targets and performance indicators.
2. Environmental Director 
The Director with responsibilities for the environment shall have overall responsibility for the implementation of the Environmental Policy.
3. Environmental Committee 
The Environmental Committee is responsible for reviewing the Environmental Policy and to provide the Environmental Director with relevant information under this policy on an annual basis and to ensure compliance with the policy on a day-to-day basis. The information will be provided as soon as practical after the company's year end.
Specific duties include
- Conducting regular reviews of relevant environmental legislation.
- Collecting environmental data and reporting on the firm's environmental performance.
- Making staff aware of the various requirements of the policy.
The committee shall comprise:
- The Environmental Director
- The HR Manager - legal, general waste disposal, and H&S issues
- The IT Manager - all environmental issues surrounding IT
- The Finance Officer - collating various information, and monitoring purchasing standards
- The Marketing Manager - internal and external communication and firm's image.
4. KS Environmental Policy 
- Working with staff with environmental responsibilities to assist in the implementation of environmental procedures and programmes;
- Providing feedback to the Board on environmental performance;
- In procurement issues, consideration of environmental issues;
- Carrying out audits on the progress and implementation of the programme of environmental actions;
- Receiving feedback and advising directors and staff on environmental matters;
- Cooperating with clients of the firm in relation to the provision of environmental information;
- Liaising with local authorities and governmental agencies on environmental matters; and
- Ensuring local processes are in place to provide guidance to staff on environmental initiatives and procedures, and awareness of the importance of complying with the firm's Environmental Policy and procedures.
5. Managers 
The managers have a duty to assist in the implementation of KS's Environmental Policy and Environmental Management System, within their respective offices.
Specific duties include:
- Maintaining effective environmental management within their respective teams;
- Implementing Environmental Policy and actions as required by the firm;
- Consultation with directors and staff regarding environmental matters; and
- Encouraging environmental participation within own team.
6. KS Employees 
Our employees are expected to assist with the implementation of any environmental initiatives in their office (for example, the recycling programme) and to provide feedback regarding their environmental issues and concerns through the appropriate channels.
7. Procurement 
Anyone who orders anything on behalf of the firm is responsible for ensuring that the firm's commitment to corporate responsibility in the supply chain is fulfilled through:
- Liaising with the Environmental Committee for advice on pertinent information to elicit from suppliers when issuing tenders for goods and services in order to make informed decisions; and
- Working with suppliers to target areas for improving the firm's environmental performance; e.g. weekly as opposed to spasmodic delivery.
